Features of Program Controller XSEL-R/S
Feature 1 Maximum interpolation movement of 8 axis (※)
Maximum number of 8 axis, which consists of highly free combinations of Single Axis Robots, Slider Robots and SCARA Robots, can be connected for interpolation movements. This enables a minimization as the mounting space decreases compared to of when 2 units of conventional 4-Axis controllers were in use. The program will be simplified as one programming language operates all 8 axis.

- ※ Interpolation movement is a function which operates a multiple axis automatically and continuously. As an example, a circle can be drawn by simply commanding it, and it automatically calculates the track X-axis and Y-axis has to take, and it draws.
Feature 2 DeviceNet master function RC gateway function (optional)
Operatable through XSEL controller programs, having a maximum connection number of made up of 16 PCON/ACON/SCON, MSEP, MSCON controllers with DeviceNet specification.
Maximum number of 24 axis, including the 8 axis of the XSEL controller, can be operated through 1 unit of controller, controlling too the peripheral equipments through I/O. PLC will be not required, leading to cost reduction.
- ※ Beside DeviceNet, RS232 communication can be used instead for the control.
Feature 3 EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP compatible(optional)
In addition to DeviceNet, CC-Link, PROFIUS-DP, which was compatible in conventional products, EtherCAT and EtherNet/IP is made compatible.
「DeviceNet, CC-Link, PROFIUS-DP(※)」, 「EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP(※)」 and「DeviceNet master function」 can be used at the same time.
- ※ For a concurrent usage, 1 type can be selected from DeviceNet, CC-Link and PROFIUS-DP, and 1 type from EtherCAT and EtherNet/IPの.
Feature 4 IA Net function(optional)
I/O communication can be performed between controllers, having XSEL controllers(※) connected by networks. I/O expansion can be done using expansion I/O units.
The controller connected to IA Net can use the PC software connected to 1 controller, in order to monitor or input all controller data. This is suitable for devices which uses a multiple number of controllers.
- ※ The connectable controllers are XSEL-R/RX/RXD/S/SX/SXD.
Feature 5 Moving time/Movement distance counting function(maintenance function)
Counts the 「Total Moved Time」 and 「Total Moved Distance」 for each connected axis. Whenever the counted number exceed the configured value, I/O(input/output signal) will be used to notify the outside section, notifying the time for maintenance, such as of axis lubricatings.
